Blogging Assignment

You’ve created your websites for World Humanities. Now it’s time to start blogging.

You’ll be required, starting this week, to complete at least three blog entries per week. Each post needs to be at least 250 words long. At least one post per week needs to be about the book you’re reading in small groups. The other posts will be about the topics you said you wanted to learn about. These are the very basic, minimal requirements for the assignment.

The purpose of the blog is to give your point of view on whatever you’re writing about. So when you’re writing about an story you read on a website, or a video you’re embedding in your post, or about the latest chapter in the book you’re reading, you should use that as a starting point. Go somewhere from there. Very good blogs will not only tell the reader what they’ve been reading or viewing, but also provide thought-provoking questions and commentary.

If you want to get an ‘A’ on the blogging assignment, you should do all of the above plus incorporate some of the multimedia elements that are available to you on a blog. That includes images, video, and hyperlinks.

We will start this assignment today, so your three posts are due by Sunday night, and that will be our schedule each week.
