Central Questions

Over the course of the year, students in World Humanities will be asked to revisit four questions that are central to our inquiry:

  1. Are people of the world more alike than different, or more different than alike?
  2. Why should we care about what happens in the rest of the world?
  3. What purposes and functions does artistic expression fulfill for individuals and cultures?
  4. What social institutions oppress or limit oppression, and how are they perpetuated?

Confused about some of the words or concepts in these questions? Consult this vocab page.
